by now.

Parris Mitchell

A man lying in the grass.

I took a walk down to Madison
The place I seemed to lose it all
It's a pretty good place to drop your innocence
The litter makes the grass look tall

And all my life switching and baiting
The antidotes while patiently waiting
You move too quick, you burn out fast
I hope this too shall pass

I figured that I'd figure it out by now
I'm certain that uncertainty makes up my design
Every line gets colored in with cheap red wine

I wear my glasses more than usual
It's hard than to see I cried
And I feel so guilty when I tell you I'm fine
'Cause I hate knowing that I just lied

And all my life hoping and praying
For the right time, it's so suffocating
A mirror's right, but backwards too
I wanna change the view

I figured that I'd figure it out by now
I'm certain that uncertainty makes up my design
Every line gets colored in with cheap red wine

I can't find the needle 'cause there's no haystack
Diamond in the rough is too tough to find
And I already know
I'm a work-in-progress, but progress is slow

It's slow, oh
Ohohoh, ohohoh, ohh, yeah
